If you think the Portuguese purl stitch is easy, wait until you try Portuguese colourwork! Hands down, this is the easiest method of colourwork and it produces the most even, beautiful stitches.
Students must be comfortable with the Portuguese knit and purl stitches, but do not need any experience with colourwork for this class.
Open up a whole new world of colourwork techniques with the Portuguese method.
Skill level: Intermediate - Intro to Portuguese Knitting or basic Portuguese Knitting skills are necessary
Class fee: $70
Supplies needed:
- Two colours of worsted weight yarn (preferably yarn with some wool content so it has some stretch)
- US 7-8/4.5-5.0 mm, 16”/40cm circular knitting needle.
- Students will be provided with two simple clasps for the method; however, Laurie-Anne at Yarn Candy Studio, based in Ontario, makes beautiful and reasonably priced Portuguese knitting pins (with low shipping costs). If you decide to purchase pins for Portuguese colourwork, you will need two.
