Odessa & Mona

Mona Zaharia — Co-Owner

IMG_0841_largeMona learned to knit from her Oma when she was five years old and dreamt of having her own yarn shop since she was a teenager. Mona comes to the yarn shop with a business background and an enthusiasm for all things fibre-related. She loves knitting and spinning and has recently learned weaving and crocheting. Mona can most often be heard saying, “ Oh my god, I love that yarn, it’d look great with my hair.”

Odessa Reichel — Co-Owner

ac227ee282e511e3869f0eac24f9eb78_8_largeOdessa learned to knit around the end of high school, but it really stuck when she was working on her Fine Arts Degree with a specialty in being an Awesome Colour Queen. Shh, don’t tell her that’s not a real degree. She’s a skilled knitter and crocheter and has most recently learned to spin and weave. Her favourite thing is when there is a new shelf with yarn organized in rainbow order. She likes to knit sweaters with hand dyed yarn and spin colourful art yarns. She has also designed patterns for publications such as Interweave Knits, Knitscene, Knitty and more!
