It was a good week for new yarns in the shop

Fall is here and the new yarns are rolling in. We’ve started carrying Berroco yarns! Berroco Vintage is a great washable worsted weight yarn. It’s so soft and would be great for so many projects.

We have 25 colors including some autumnal heathers.

We have also started carrying Berroco Blackstone Tweed. It’s a gorgeous tweedy yarn with 65% wool, 25% kid mohair and 10% angora.

As well, we got in some Berroco pattern booklets to accompany the yarn, including Norah Gaughin Vol.9. The pattern booklets are beautiful with great photographs and styling.

We have a new super bulky yarn in, Ella Rae Mega. The colors are so vibrant!

There are some adorable new Sirdar booklets in including one for the Smiley Stripes yarn. The new Interweave magazine Knit.Wear is also in. It has such clean modern styling. It’s really pretty to look at and has some great sweater patterns.

There are some more new books in!

There are new colors of Kureyon sock and Silk Garden on the shelves. The Kureyon sock is so bright and cheerful!

There are also new colors of the Llama Silk (which are hanging out with some Drake)

Also in is a flashy but elegant yarn from Debbie Bliss, Party Angel. It’s really similar to Angel, but with some shimmer.

Some new yarns

We’ve been getting in so many great new yarns, as well as old yarns in new colours lately. This past week we got in some new colours of Cascade 220, including some gorgeous heathered blues and greens and we’ve expanded our selection of Eco + into colours! We also got in two new Cascade yarns. First up is Cascade 128 Superwash, which is a chunky superwash. At 3.5 stitches per inch, it’s perfect for quick accessories as well as cozy afghans and washable garments. It’s really soft and the colours are saturated and vibrant. The second is Cascade Heritage Sock, which is a great solid sock yarn that comes in a great variety vibrant colours. It’s really soft and smooth so it would work well for lacy shawls or any pattern calling for a well defined fingering weight yarn, not just socks! Last but not least, we got in a great selection of Jawoll Magic Degradé, which is a really fun yarn to watch knit up as it goes from color to color. I’ve seen some shawls made with this stuff and they are beautiful!

In case you didn’t know, over at Wolseley Wool we carry every color of Lopi. Seriously. It’s a lot of Lopi. We also have a great assortment of pattern books to browse through. Lopi is great for our cold cold winters because of its thickness and warmth.

I was taking some pictures around the store the other day and was really taken by the texture of Debbie Bliss Angel. It’s so soft and ethereal with the fluffy mohair hugging the shimmery silky core. Here are some patterns that it would knit up great in:

Our fall yarns are still rolling in so keep an eye out for new stuff!
